Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has stated that the Executive Secretary at the National Identification Authority (NIA), Professor Kenneth Attafuah has made education unattractive.
Hon. Agyapong made this statement on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show hosted by Oheneba Nana Asiedu following the unguarded statement the NIA Executive Secretary recently made in a radio interview.
“How can you ridicule President Akufo-Addo like that? Even if he has told you that, does it mean you should come to the public to spew it?” he questioned.
He bemoaned bitterly that, the NIA Executive Secretary has caused damage to the NPP.
Hon. Agyapong said that there were a lot of people who qualify to be appointed as the NIA Executive Secretary but did not get the opportunity.
“Was it our sin to campaign for the party at night for you to get a position and not employ the party faithful? “he further quizzed.
According to the firebrand politician, Prof Attafuah was appointed NIA Executive Secretary during the era of President John Agyekum Kufour but was sacked by late President Prof Mills when he became President.
Hon. Agyapong explained that, Prof Atta Mills fired Prof Attafuah because their ideologies were opposite.
He revealed that Prof Attafuah was re-appointed the NIA Executive Secretary because of the intimacy he has with Vice President, Dr Bawumia.
“You use the party to get appointment and afterwards you describe yourself as neutral,” the Assin North MP fumes.
