Kejetia Traders under the auspices of Kumasi City Market (KCM) Evangelism Team on Friday morning donated toiletries, clothing, detergents and undisclosed cash amounts to six orphanages, 500 widows as well as inmates at the Kumasi Central Prisons.
The gesture was to show gratitude to God for his mercies and protection towards the traders at the market square.
Speaking to this reporter after the donations, Elder Nana Akwasi Prempeh, President of the Kumasi City Evangelism Team said 2022 was a challenging year for members including all the traders at Kejetia.
‘’We had a very challenging year in 2022 and amidst all that befell us individually and as a group God showed us mercy to overcome the challenges and so we decided to donate to the needy, under-privileged and widows in Kumasi so that we can also bring some smiles to their faces at this yuletide’’, the President stated.
CAROLS NIGHT:
Last Tuesday, the KCM Team also organized a highly patronised carols night for traders and shoppers at the Kejetia Market.
Singing very known and popular Christmas songs and carols, shoppers and traders joined as the various invited choirs and groups led the way.
Showing profuse happiness, some of the shoppers and traders danced and sang joyfully while others waved their clothes and headgears to acknowledge the inspiration in the songs.
Singing deep into the night some traders expressed happiness that the KCM team was able to make them enjoy inspiration ahead of Christmas.
BENEFICIARY ORGANISATIONS:
Some of the beneficiary organizations were the Edwenase Rehabilitation Center, Save our Life Foundation at Anwiankwanta, Jesus Life Foundation at Ejisu, the Kumasi Central Prisons as well as two other orphanages outside Kumasi.
At the Edwenase Rehabilitation Center, the inmates and KCM officials heartily sang and danced to the glory of God.
Seated comfortably Friday morning at the precincts of the Kejetia Market, over 500 widows were given pieces of wax prints and an undisclosed cash amount for sewing.
