KAA Shines In Parliament: NPP MPs Full Of Praise For KAA

The charismatic flagbearer candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong (KAA), struck a chord among the Members of Parliament (MPs) of the NPP as he espoused his mission to usher in an ‘A New Dawn’ in the political landscape of Ghana.

In his address to the majority caucus of parliament on 3rd May 2023, he expressed that achieving his mission of “A New Dawn” in the political landscape of Ghana requires a new kind of leader. A leader with the vibrance and the gusto needed to galvanize the grassroots to achieve the ‘seemingly elusive third term’ for the NPP. He added that the precipice the country finds itself on requires the stewardship of a capable leader ready to sacrifice and serve the party and the nation. He reiterated that anyone who cannot live by the principles of service, sacrifice and selflessness is not fit to lead NPP and Ghana.

In his submission, KAA assured the MPs that he is ready and willing to sacrifice for and serve the party faithfully as he always has done and added that he has the right experience, skillset and character traits needed to lead the party to victory in 2024 if given the mandate as flagbearer of the NPP.

In addition, KAA acknowledged the economic struggles that the country is facing and signalled the need to impose order, discipline, and compliance in all financial dealings of the country.

He announced his intention to drastically reduce waste in the public sector by running a lean yet effective government that delivers on its mandate.

He promised to work in tandem with the parliament to reduce the cap on the number of supreme court judges in Ghana and remove the compulsory retirement age of 70 for supreme court judges
lastly, he called for peace and fairness in the upcoming internal elections and urged the members of the party to be the beacon of democracy and transparency that has been a tradition in the party since its inception.

He added that the election should be devoid of coercion, manipulation and favouritism and that the national executives and the members of the party must follow the codes of conduct at all times during the election to ensure a transparent and credible internal election.
