Media guru and mining operator, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has threatened to sue Multimedia- operators of Joy Fm for allowing some of their journalist to take bribes from Samartex in order to run him down on their low patronage website and declining radio station to increase traffic.
Mr. Antwi-Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi, is surprised the media house which used to command respect in the past, stooped so low to publish a one sided story because their palms have been heavily greased by Samartex.
“They haven’t done the basic thing in journalism by visiting me to know my side of the story”, Chairman Wontumi said as he took a swipe at Peace FM’s Samson K. Nyamekye for being part of the syndicate of media men not observing the basic rule of journalism.
Joy FM recently lied in one of their publications that Akonta Mining Limited which belongs to Chairman Wontumi is said to have been mining at the reserve without permission from government.
Reacting to the news on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Chairman Wontumi clarified that he legitimately owns a lease from government that allows him run a large scale mining just like Anglo Gold Ashanti.
“I have sent my documents to court through my lawyer. I haven’t seen their (Samatex) documents before and my lease allows me to do large scale mining just like Anglo Gold”, Chairman Wontumi explained.
He added that Samartex is “using Joy Fm for their dirty works. Joy fm has become a propaganda station. I will take them court; they can’t sit somewhere and extort monies to run my company down.”
