Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew is in talks to join Championship side Blackburn Rovers as the 2026/2027 season gets underway.
Ayew is currently without a team following the expiration of his contract with Leicester City, who were relegated at the end of the 2025/2026 season.
He occasionally trains at Nania Park to maintain fitness, alongside players such as Mubarak Wakaso, his brother Andre Dede Ayew, and others.
Blackburn are reportedly interested in Ayew’s profile and believe that, with his experience in England, his attacking prowess could bolster their squad.
Head coach Tony Mowbray is understood to be pushing for the move, hoping to add more options in attack as the club struggles in the early stages of the campaign.
Blackburn have started the season inconsistently, picking up four points from their opening two matches before recording one draw and two defeats in their next three games.
Their latest result was a 2-1 defeat against Preston, increasing the urgency for Mowbray to strengthen his squad.
