A member of the NPP communications team, Daniel Teikoh has alleged that several pastors and business owners have lost their properties and businesses after supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He further claimed that the NDC does not create a favourable environment for entrepreneurs and businesses to thrive.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, hosted by Oheneba Nana Asiedu, Mr. Teikoh also commented on a video circulating on social media in which the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, discussed former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s proposal to have Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) elected rather than appointed.
According to Mr. Teikoh, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu was aware of some of the initiatives and policies pursued by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, but the NDC used propaganda to undermine the image of the then-government.
“Hon. Haruna Iddrisu was aware of the good things Nana Addo and his Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, were doing for Ghanaians, but they used propaganda against the NPP to tarnish their image”.
He argued that former President Akufo-Addo’s proposal to have MMDCEs elected would have given them greater independence and strengthened their ability to perform their duties.
Mr. Teikoh questioned why the NDC opposed the proposal at the time but is now seeking to implement a similar system.
“Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo intended to elect the MMDCEs so they could have their own mandate to work independently. The NDC stood against it, but today they want to implement it. Is this not shameful to the NDC?” he asked.
He consequently urged Ghanaians to carefully consider their political choices and warned individuals against being persuaded to join the NDC.
Mr. Teikoh concluded by urging Ghanaians to remain vigilant when choosing a political party, insisting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) represents truth and better opportunities for the country.
