Former President John Dramani Mahama has been captured in a video attending to ‘okada’ accident victims who seem to have been knocked down by his convoy.
The former President is clearly heard in the video asking one of his aides if he had called the ambulance service to attend to the ‘okada’ riders who were lying on the floor.
He is also seen trying to help one of the victim by telling him to loosen his jacket to allow more fresh air to his body.
It would be recalled that as the 2020 flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the major promise Mr. John Mahama made to Ghanaians was to present a manifesto that talks about the legalization of okada business.
Whilst the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Akufo-Addo was promising to build industries, digitize the economy and strengthen other polices such as the free Senior High School, Mr. Mahama and his running mate were promising to legal okada.
The NPP government led by Vice President Bawumia came out boldly to condemn the populist promise by Mr. Mahama and made it clear the risky business would never be legalized in Ghana.
