The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, is blaming the leader of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, of having a secret hand in funding secessionists that are creating a mess in Volta region.
The NPP Chairman in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show stated that he would have swiftly jailed the leader and flagbearer for the NDC if he had the powers of President Akufo-Addo.
An angry Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi minced no words declaring that “If I were the President, I will arrest John Mahama and release him on 7th December”.
Following a series of attacks perpetrated by members of the Homeland Study Group Foundation last Friday in the Volta Region, former President John Mahama has condemned the activities of the Western Togoland movement.
According to him, Ghana was a sovereign republic and that no one had a right to claim part of Ghana hence the activities of the group must not be entertained.
But Chairman Wontumi countered his statement indicating that former President Mahama can never be trusted with his condemnation when it was clear he was secretly funding the group to create chaos.
He cited the infamous tape of the Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo, were he was clearly heard advising his party members to create chaos in Ghana and kidnap young girls.
“He (Mahama) has been the one supporting Ofosu Ampofo to be causing mayhem and kidnapping girls in the country”, Chairman Wontumi recounted.
He added that “God knows why he has given Akufo-Addo a heart to deal softly with John Mahama. God speaks to him that is why I respect him. Had this not been the case and I were the President with the tape evidence of Ofosu Ampofo and Kweku Boahen, I would have arrested John Mahama.”
