Ghana was in a very bad state before the current New Patriotic Party took over from the erstwhile National Democratic Congress government, the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, has recounted.
She likened Ghana’s situation in 2016 before the NPP took over to having five loaves of bread and two fishes.
“The country was not in a good state. Even Mahama personally confessed when he was President that the flesh on our economy has been dissipated to the bone”, the Chief of Staff said in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show.
She continued that President Akufo-Addo inherited Ghana in a very state from former President John Mahama.
“Nana Akufo-Addo to turn things around by bringing policies that has elevated us today. We came to meet a lot of debts with school feeding, capitation grants. It took good leadership to come this far”, she said.
Despite the bad state the NPP government inherited, Madam Frema Osei-Opare, explained that President Akufo-Addo had to think out the box and come up with sustainable ways to implement the free SHS policy that has benefitted every Ghanaian child of school going age.
