The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boaisko, has branded former President John Mahama as “cheeky” politician.
In an interview on the Security Tips show which airs on Wontumi TV, the NPP Chairman noted that when the former President was in office, he often addressed the plight of Ghanaians in a cheeky way.
He recounted the disrespectful response Mr. Mahama offered to unemployed graduates when they requested for jobs under his tenure.
It would be recalled that former President John Mahama cheekily told Ghanaians that the country has seen a rise in unemployment rate, especially among the youth, because many of the unemployed graduates are not skilled.
He further rubbed salt into their injury by stating that he is not a magician to put money in their pockets.
According to the former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), “The fact of life is that you can only have money in your pocket if you work and earn it and so there is no magic to put money into people’s pockets…That is why government is investing as much as it is investing to try and provide our people with the skills that they need to enter the world of work.”
But Chairman Wontumi responded in the interview monitored by Wontumionline.com that “Mahama is cheeky and disrespectful. The same unemployed graduates that you told them that you are not a magician to create employment for them; President Akufo-Addo has become a magician to give them with jobs.”
