John Kumah Shows Love To 500 Widows At Easter.

 

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, Dr John Ampontuah Kumah on Easter Monday presented wax prints and some undisclosed amount of cash to 500 widows in the constituency.

The gesture, according to the youthful legislator, was to fulfill the desire he has for the aged especially widows who sometimes struggle to fend for themselves.

At three separate locations in the constituency namely, Fumesua, Ejisu and Onwe, Dr Kumah presented to each of the widows a wax print and cash.

Present at these three ceremonies were chiefs and traditional leaders from the respective communities as well NPP executives.

DESIRE:

Addressing the gathering at the ceremonies, Dr Kumah indicated that nothing excites him than to see people, especially the elderly happy.

He noted that having taken good care of the likes of himself and others in the community it was just right to remember the aged particularly widows during festive occasions.

The Ejisu MP said the commitment he has is to use every avenue he gets or the influence he wields in the NPP to cause development to his area.

The youth and the aged, he posited are therefore in his plans to ensure jobs and other opportunities are made available to them.

‘’I am committed to ensuring that the initiatives the government has laid out benefits my people including the youth and the aged even as the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program for the aged is monitored to help out’’, the MP posited.

BENEFICIARIES:

Madam Adwoa Baanie, a 55 year old resident of Kwaso, a community within Ejisu expressed delight at the items she had gotten.

She noted that her clothes had been worn out and that the gesture from the legislator will enable her to go to church in a new one.

Maame Yaa Oforiwaa, a 62 year old widow from Fumesua prayed for the Ejisu MP and wished him good health.

She said but for the gesture from the MP the Easter had been a sad experience since she was struggling to get money to feed.
