The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has completed its balloting to determine the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot paper for its National Chairmanship race, ahead of the national executive election on October 3, 2026.
The exercise was held on Wednesday, September 9, at the party’s headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra
It saw former General Secretary John Boadu pick the first slot on the ballot. Former National Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe picked the second position, while former National Chairman Paul Afoko picked third.
Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko picked the last ballot becoming the fourth on the paper.
Beyond the chairmanship race, the vetting process also cleared thirteen aspirants for the National Vice Chairperson position, among them Henry Nana Boakye, Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Richard Ahiagbah, Samuel Pyne and Nana Akomea.
In the General Secretary race, the incumbent Justin Kodua Frimpong is seeking to defend his seat against Eugene Boakye Antwi, Sylvester Tetteh and Charles Dwamena.
With just over three weeks left before the October 3 polls, the four National Chairmanship aspirants are expected to intensify their engagements with delegates across the country as they each seek to establish a strong front for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2028 election.
