Plans by Prof. Joshua Alabi to be the next flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress are being sabotaged by Mr. John Dramani Mahama’s election petition, a communication team member of the New Patriotic Party has observed.
Raphael Patrick Sarfo, in an interview on the Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com stated that inasmuch as the defeated 2020 flagbearer of the NDC knows his petition to the Supreme Court would amount to nothing, he is deliberately pursuing it to ensure he kills the dreams of Prof. Joshua Alabi.
According to the vocal NPP communicator, Prof Alabi has already established his campaign team to lead the NDC I 2024 but has refused to make it public because Mr. Mahama is in court challenging the results of the 2020 Presidential elections.
“Joshua Alabi has established his campaign team but he can’t make it public because of Mahama’s strategy to stay in court. One of my best friends is part of his campaign team but he tells me they can’t work because of John Mahama”, Raphael Patrick Sarfo said.
He further described Mr. John Mahama as a “selfish” and “egoistic” person who has forgotten the Supreme Court is a place that deals with the law and not emotions.
It would be recalled that prior to the 2020 polls, Prof. Alabi was among the four NDC stalwarts who declared their readiness to lead the party.
Before the elections, he called for a change in direction and a fresh lease of life for the NDC in its forward march to win the 2020 polls.
He said since the 2012 election, the party had slumped in terms of votes and the situation could worsen in 2020 if there was no change in direction.
