It Would Be Harder For Lawyers Who JM To Rise To Be Judges- University Lecturer

Choosing to meet former President John Mahama and accepting the title ‘NDC lawyer’ could stifle any chance of the lawyers rising to the level of a Judge in the future, Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo has observed.

The Kumasi Technical University lecturer stated on Wontumi TV that the title conferred on the lawyers who met the 2020 flagbearer for the NDC, has exposed their political affiliation and would trigger an opposition if any of them is to be considered for the role of a judge in the future.

On Sunday August 28, 2022, Mr. John Mahama interacted with some lawyers at the 2nd Annual Lawyers Conference of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). Surprisingly, he used the ceremony to run down the judicial service and its head, Chief Justice Anin-Yeboah.

But Dr. Forkuo responded that the attack on the court even complicates the case of the lawyers who attended the program wondering that “your flagbearer has gone to assembly NDC lawyers, so in the future how can they be elevated to the status of judges?”
