ISIS Slaughtered 40 Civilians In Congo, There Are Soldiers killed

Terrorists reportedly slaughtered Christian civilians in several villages in Ituri and North Kivu provinces. Also in the attacks, several soldiers from the Congolese armed forces were killed. The isolation of the settlements did not allow government troops to respond on time to the attacks, so the jihadists went unpunished.

In total, the Central African branch of ISIS has reported fourteen attacks since early April.

ISIS-DRC has operated in Beni, North Kivu province, for years. While the majority of its members are Congolese with Uganda-origin leadership, the group recruits from around the Central Africa and East Africa regions. According to the United Nations, more than 100 armed groups and local militias operate in the eastern DRC.

President Felix Tshisekedi has publicly described the ADF – known for its asymmetric-style attacks and large-scale, systemic violence against civilians – as “terrorists” and noted they are a threat not only to the DRC but also to the broader region.
