Internal Wranglings Will Negatively Affect NPP’s Victory – Political Science Lecturer

Dr. Isaac Brako

political science lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba Dr. Isaac Brako has expressed that it is politically dishonest for a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party to offset decisions made by the president and members of the cabinet in governance.

This assertion came in the wake of a campaign message conveyed by Hon Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential aspirant in the upcoming NPP presidential primaries who described his contender, Dr. Mahamud Bawumia as a failure despite his self-acclaimed economic strategist.

The statement received a response from Dr. Bawumia who also charged the party delegates to make a presidential Choice in the primaries and not just a selection of flagbearer because Ghanaians will only vote for respectful, hardworking and humble leader and not vice versa.

Speaking to Dr. Isaac Brako in an interview with Peace News Monitored wontumionline.com, he stated that the aspirants must communicate their plans and objectives to delegates and Ghanaians as to why they should be voted into power to ensure the solution to the country’s problems is achieved rather than the continuous wrangling and haggling because if it continues as such, it will go a long way to affect the party.

Dr. Brako pleaded with all the aspirants to cease fire on campaign messages that denote personal attacks and focus on evidence base campaign stressing that a divided party can not be victorious under no circumstances hence the need for the party executives to quickly resolve the tension and the anxiety to ensure peace and unity prevails ahead of the 2024 general elections.
