Increase In GDP Growth: Ghana Prepared Massively For Post COVID Recovery- Kusi Boafo
The Acting Chief Executive Officer for Public Sector Reforms, Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo says he is not surprised about the 3.1% growth rate in the economy.
According to him, Ghana prepared massively for post COVID-19 recovery.
On Wontumi Radio and TV Morning Show on Thursday, Mr. Boafo said that the increase in the GDP indicates that, the country’s gross domestic product has also increased.
He said that the 3.1% growth is appreciative but expect the growth to increase to 4.1%.
“Many countries like Japan, Canada, US, India and others have experienced reduction in gross domestic product but Ghana is among the countries that have seen a rise in its GDP,” he said.
He revealed that, entertainment is one area that boost the economy.
He said, the country’s economic activities operate between the hours of 6pm and 12midnight.
According to the acting Public Sector Reforms CEO, before the spike of the pandemic, government was running a serious thought through programmes.
He said that government brought banking reforms to solve the banking crises.
Mr. Kusi Boafo emphasized if the banking crises were not solved, it would have caused catastrophe to the nation.
He said that, there is light at the end of the tunnel and that if more Ghanaians receive the vaccine, “and we are able to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, the economy will fully recover”
