The Bono East Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), David Boakye has taken a swipe at former President John Mahama, saying that promising a new region in the north will not make up for his incompetence.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, Boakye argued that Mahama’s promise to create a new region was a desperate attempt to win votes. “You have been a member of parliament(MP), Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice President and President from the north but could not upgrade your very own constituency into a Municipality, you faild to creat a region for them when you were president of the Republic, How would you be trusted at opposition that you’ll creat a new region”
Mr Boakye listed several projects that Mahama had promised but failed to deliver during his tenure, including roads, hospitals, and schools. “Mahama’s track record is clear: he promises but doesn’t deliver,” Boakye said.
“The people of Ghana will be watching closely to see who can deliver on his promises and it’s clear that Dr Bawumia is a man of his words”
David Boakye argued that Mahama’s promise was a desperate bid to win votes, but it would not distract from his abysmal record in office. “Mahama thinks that by making grand promises, he can gloss over his failures, but we won’t let him get away with it,” Boakye said.
