The impending flagbearership contest could land the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in opposition if not handled with care, deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahene, has advised.
In a one on one interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV, the deputy General Secretary for the NPP advised members of his party against picking entrenched positions when it comes to finding the next candidate to lead the party when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo retires.
He categorically stated that doing so would land the NPP in opposition and called for the process to organized with care due to the party’s history.
“Whether you support Alan Kyeremanten, Dr. Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Joe Ghartey, see your opponent as your brother”, the seasoned lawyer counselled.
In his view, the NPP is doomed if they mess up and end up in opposition in 2024.
