It would be suicidal for members of the National Democratic Congress especially former President John Mahama to think he can bounce back to power because the government of President Akufo-Addo is engaging the IMF, Razak Kojo Opoku has warned.
The Founder and President of Concern Voters Movement (CVM), emphatically stated that it would be a complete joke for Mr. Mahama to assume his chances of winning the 2024 election has been cemented due to government’s negotiations with the IMF.
Addressing the issue on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline, the CVM leader stated that
“The NDC are thinking they lost the 2016 elections because Mahama went to IMF. That is a joke of the century, a complete joke. If IMF made Mahama lose the election, why has he gathered courage that he wants to come back and rule?” he rhetorically asked.
Razak Kojo Opoku maintains that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) decision engage the IMF is justifiable noting that the “circumstance that drove Mahama there is different” from what is driving the NPP.
