I’m Determined To Make Sekyere Central A Model District — Banahene Bediako

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Central, Mr Kwadwo Banahene Bediako says his focus is to lobby for more development projects to his area to make it a novel community in Ashanti.

Speaking to Michael Ofosu-Afriyie in response to some allegations from a group by name Concerned Citizens of Sekyere Central that he had under-performed as DCE and was acting as a dictator, Mr Bediako said he would not be side-tracked by the false claims.

According to the DCE, the records of his performance were there for all to see and stressed that the appeal for his dismissal were the work of people who feel threatened by his record in just one term of office.

Mr Bediako explained that because of his approach to work, some of the staff, particularly the lazy ones did not appreciate his style.

‘’My very nature abhors laziness and anyone who has a trait of laziness would not find it easy to work with me but for those who are diligent at work they find in me an exciting fellow’’, Mr Bediako posited.

COMMITMENT:

Mr Bediako said he was committed to using the strength he had to work to ensure the Sekyere Central District attains the level of development it deserved.

He noted that his very nature does not countenance laziness in the area of work, stating that he by that nature of his he is getting enemies.

The DCE wondered why people should be paid for no work done, adding that no private employer countenances the same and so why should he as DCE be happy when people want to have salary without doing commensurate work.

Mr Bediako noted that some persons hitherto his appointment as DCE were clocking time in and time out at the Assembly but sneaking to do their personal chores elsewhere.

‘’When the President appointed me he asked me to use the education I had acquired and the wisdom God had given me to work and it is with the same that I am determined to work for optimum results’’, the DCE firmly stated.

RESOLVE:

Mr Banahene Bediako, a former registrar at the Christian Service University College (CSUC) said his resolve is to work while he has the chance to do so and ensure that all bad roads in the community were repaired.

He noted that currently nine of those roads have been awarded to contractors and stressed that when work is completed there would be openings to farm gates where food is cultivated in abundance.

The DCE also revealed that traders in Ejisu, Juaben,Ejura and other adjoining towns would have easy access to the Sekyere Central District to buy farm produce at cheaper rates for onward distribution to cities in Kumasi and elsewhere.

‘’I together with my hard working assembly members are grateful to the President and his government for ensuring that our roads are given the facelift it deserved so that our communities would be opened up for business and trade’’, Mr Bediako stated.
