The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Kofi Owusu Omar, has punched holes into reasons given by Mr. Asiedu Nketia about his decision to ride on top of a car during the March for Justice protest.
The National Democratic Congress’ General Secretary claims he decided to avoid people taking selfies with him because he is over 60 years of age and could easily contract coronavirus.
But Kofi Owusu Omar in an interview on Wontumi TV stated that the statement by Mr. Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito, was an insult to the crowd who came to support the NDC and should be condemned.
“So you know the NDC guys have covid and you still demonstrated with them? It is an insult to them because he was comfortable moving around in his car whilst the others stood in the sorching sun”, Chairman Omar said.
Aside the GCPP Chairman, another staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Oteatuoso Kokobeng II, has taken a direct swipe at General Mosquito by accusing him of being mentally retarded.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, the NPP questioned the decision by Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia to ride in car when other members of the NDC were on foot for the March for Justice protest.
He questioned General Mosquito for trying to seek justice for Macho Kaaka when he has refused to do same for Wasiru, a core member of the NDC who was murdered in his presence.
It would be recalled that one person was killed following a shooting incident at the NDC’s party office at Amakom in the Ashanti Region.
The Police, who confirmed the death, gave the deceased’s name only as Wasiru.
The shooting incident occurred during a meeting between the National Chairman, General Secretary, a Deputy General Secretary and the Regional Executive Committee.
