A communication team member of the Progressive People Party, Richard Boadu, has advised against using violence as a means of registering ones displeasure in the aftermath of the 2020 general elections.
According to the PPP communicator, he has taken notice of some members of the National Democratic Congress resorting to violence as means of opposing the 2020 elections verdict announced by the Electoral Commission.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, Mr. Richard Boadu pleaded with the protestors to recognize there are laws governing the country noting that it would be fruitless to offer to die for the NDC.
Richard Boadu advised that “if you follow the NDC and you get killed, your family would be given just GHC1000 or GHC2000” adding that the agitated members of the NDC should keep in mind that “the court would never overturn the decision of the EC”.
He went on to criticize the executives of the NDC who were in charge of collating electoral results for the NDC. According to him, they failed the party by doing a shoddy work.
“Even from their own collation of results that came from their strong room, it pointed out to over 100% voter turnout”, he said.
He also cautioned former President John Mahama to act like a statesman and reject calls by some members of his party to use his defeat to create trouble in Ghana.
“You are a former President and Statesman so stop listening to the people urging you to do the wrong thing. The world is watching you”, the PPP communicator noted.
