The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has fired the brother of former President John Dramani Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama for abusing state power when the National Democratic Congress was in power.
According to him, the younger brother used officers from the Ghana Military as his personal bodyguards and even went to the extent of loading a passenger plane with military officers just to face him in court in Kumasi.
In addressing the issue of abuse of state power under former President Mahama on the Nsempa Fie show, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that “Ibrahim had no official position, it is just that his brother that was President and around that same time, he had a court issue with me. He used to land at the airport with soldiers in his plane. Ibrahim used to come to court with soldiers just to face me“.
Chairman Wontumi further condemned the practice and advised current appointees serving under President Akufo-Addo not to copy that lifestyle of Ibrahim Mahama.
