Nana Agradaa, born Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, founder of Heaven Way International Church, has asserted that being the wife of a pastor is a calling, stressing that she would not be like gospel musician Florence Obinim, who would leave her marriage for any reason.
The evangelist made the statement on September 6, 2026, during a church service, when she asked one of her female congregants whether she wanted to become an “Osofo Maame,” a pastor’s wife, and whether she could handle the heartbreaks that come with being married to a pastor.
Agradaa argued that a woman cannot become the wife of a pastor if God does not give her a strong heart, as she believes it takes a divine calling to be able to withstand the challenges that come with being a pastor’s wife.
She explained that, for her, whenever her husband, Angel Asiamah, is counselling, she is always by his side because she is protecting her territory and would not allow another woman to take her husband from her.
The evangelist described herself as a “prison defender,” saying she defends and protects what belongs to her.
“Being an Osofo Maame, a pastor’s wife, is a calling. If God does not give you the gift, you cannot be one. For me, if my husband is doing counselling, I am seated by his side. As for me, I would not be like Florence. I wouldn’t leave for another woman to come and take over. I’m the ‘prison defender,” she said.
Agradaa’s remarks come amid reports that gospel musician Florence Obinim had returned drinks to Bishop Daniel Obinim’s family, a Ghanaian tradition that symbolises that she was no longer interested in the marriage.
Per reports, Florence Obinim initiated the divorce after the preacher allegedly abandoned their matrimonial home for months.
Florence and her relatives reportedly presented the traditional drinks to Bishop Obinim’s father in Sepaase, Kumasi, where the preacher reportedly accepted them without hesitation.
