I Will Vote For Competent Candidates Regardless Of Who They Supported – Oheneba Nana Asiedu

‎Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a journalist at Wontumi TV and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Atwima Nwabiagya South, has stated that the success of a political party depends more on loyalty, commitment, and dedication than on academic qualifications or perceived competence alone.

‎Speaking in an interview with Nana Fokuo on the Wontumi Privilege Morning Show, Mr. Asiedu argued that genuine commitment to the party’s cause is what ultimately delivers results.

‎According to him, some individuals who campaigned against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during the NPP presidential primaries are now seeking various positions in the party, and he is prepared to support them because he believes they have the capacity to serve the party effectively.

‎”At this point, we should come together as one NPP family without discrimination. It should not matter who you supported during the presidential primaries. If I believe a candidate can work diligently for the party, I will vote for that person. Likewise, I know some people who supported Dr. Bawumia, but I will not vote for them,” he said.

‎Mr. Asiedu further stated that while many supporters of Dr. Bawumia are genuinely committed to the party, some individuals are pursuing personal interests rather than the broader welfare of the NPP.

‎”I know that many people support Dr. Bawumia with good intentions. However, some party members are following him because of their own selfish interests. They do not have the party’s best interest at heart,” he added.

‎Touching on the recent legal challenges involving Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, Mr. Asiedu expressed concern that the development could affect the party’s electoral fortunes.

‎”Because of what has happened to Chairman Wontumi, some NPP youth members may decide not to vote for the party. Their loyalty to Chairman Wontumi is so strong that if he is not actively involved, they may not come out to vote,” he claimed.
