As an experienced lawyer with rich experience, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw had viewed a fellow lawyer, Martin Kpebu as a sparkling practitioner – but it turns out he is ‘chaff’.
The assessment by Lawyer Ampaw follows a damning accusation by Martin Kpebu that President Akufo-Addo was a member of a criminal syndicate at the Jubilee House citing his failure to pursue corruption cases.
But his statement showed how ‘shallow’ Kpebu is forcing lawyer Ampaw to note that “until recently, I thought Kpebu was sound in law but…”
He advised that rather than make the emphatic call by calling the President a criminal, Martin Kpebu should have even alleged it.
“If he (Martin Kpebu) is sued, he will come out and say it is political witch-hunt”, Lawyer Ampaw said as he stated that Kpebu could be punished for his uncouth comment.

Retraction from Kpebu
Yesterday, I was a guest on Newsfile where issues including the nation-wrecking canker of corruption was discussed.
This was on the back of yet another frightening survey by the collaboration of two state institutions – CHRAJ and GSS revealing the endemic level of actual corruption in Ghana today.
In the heat of the discussion, I passionately expressed my disgust at the inaction of the presidency in dealing with certain matters bothering on corruption.
I do, hereby, retract and apologise for the expression purporting to connect the President of the Republic to crime.
Signed,
Martin Kpebu
