Head of Corporate Communications at Ghana Gas, Ernest Owusu Bempah has stated that he survived 42 assassination attempts on his life under the government of former President John Mahama.
He therefore condemned some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who are trying hard to pin the government of President Akufo-Addo down by falsely accusing it of introducing culture of silence in Ghana’s media space.
He deflated assertions by some NDC members that the current NPP government suppressing media freedom by stating that the NDC did worse in government than they are claiming is happening.
According to him, former President Mahama’s government constantly attacked him and arrested him because he criticized him on radio.
“You talk about culture of silence but have you forgotten what you did to me? I was on radio at Peacefm with Yaw Adomako Baafi and was I arrested to BNI because Mahama sent people after me. I was talking about Nayele Ametefe”, Ernest Owusu Bempah said.
He accused former President Mahama of ordering security operatives to chase him and assassinate him- an operation he claims failed 42 times.
“They (Mahama’s men) always followed me to my house and I had to scale my wall on several occasion. I survived 42 assassination attempts under John Mahama and God is my witness”, he recounted on Wontumi TV.
