I Said The Opening Prayer, Sammy Gyamfi Said The Closing Prayer When We Met The Police- Nana B

The National Organizer for the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has revealed that he took the burden of reciting the opening prayer when he, together with some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) met the Ghana Police Service to iron out some issues.

Henry Nana Boakye disclosed on the Wontumi Morning Show that after their fruitful meeting, the National Communications officer for the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi offered to say the closing prayer.

“When we met the police, I said the opening prayer and Sammy gave the closing prayer”, Henry Nana Boakye popularly known as Nana B said.

The Ghana Police Service on Monday, April 17, 2023, engaged the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) to discuss recent developments on the political front.

The NPP was represented by Justin Kodua Frimpong ESQ, General Secretary, and Henry Nana Boakye ESQ, National Organizer. Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman; Mr. Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary; and Sammy Gyamfi, also represented the NDC.

Speaking on the meeting, Nana B commended the police service for the invitation and stated that the aim of the meeting was to water down the political temperature in the country and also allow the police to do their work.

The police according to him have set up a National Election Security Taskforce Secretariat and a legal unit to enable them monitor and analyse every political statement made by politicians in the country.

Based on the work of the two units, Nana B indicated that the police service have established that a petition by the NPP to have former President Mahama and Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia arrested for ‘inciting’ their members cannot be pursued.

The same police analysis also frees Hon. Bryan Acheampong from the call by the NDC on the police to have him arrested over some comments he recently made.

Nana B stated that they received briefing from the police that “the fact that somebody has said something that you don’t like doesn’t warrant or make it a crime”.
