I Never Instructed The Soldiers To Shoot To Kill- Regional Minister On Ejura Shootings (Video)

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simone Osei Mensah, has defended his decision to call on the Ghana Armed Forces to restore peace at Ejura when he had picked intelligence that there was going to riot in the area.

The Minister in an interview on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, stated that it would be ignorant on the part of others to blame him for the liverounds which were fired at the youth who clashed with the security forces.

“If I call for army protection, I don’t tell them what to do… I am not a trained army, police or fire service officer. I only called the army but didn’t give them a strategy to adopt”, Mr. Simone Osei Mensah said.

The Minister also stated that involvement of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in matters relating to Ejura, led to the death of two young men, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simone Osei Mensah, has said.

The astute politician believes the use of a surrogate group belonging to the NDC- #FixTheCountry, hastened tension at Ejura following the death of Ibrahim Mohammed alias Macho Kaaka.
