Lawyer Raphael Agyapong has revealed that he nearly traded blows with Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng in court during the hearing of a case they were both involved in.
The counsel for the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, revealed that it took the intervention of the presiding judge to stop them trading blows in court.
“I am working with him (Kissi Agyebeng) on the same case Anas Amereyaw Anas vrs Kennedy Agyapong- a defamation case.
One day in court, we nearly traded blows. It has happened on three occasions and the judge, always takes us to his chamber to advise us”, Lawyer Raphael Agyapong who is also a brother to the Assin North legislator said on Wontumi TV.
According to him, prior to the court case, he had a very good relationship with Lawyer Kissi Agyebeng and benefited from his support when his dad passed away.
“I had a very good relationship with him until the Anas issue came up. When my father passed away, he even drove his own car to Assin Fosu to come and support me”, Lawyer Agyapong said in praise of Mr. Kissi Agyebeng.
Kennedy Agypong supports Kissi Agyebeng
Despite the ongoing battle in court, lawyer Raphael Agyapong revealed that his brother (Kennedy Agyapong) still supports Lawyer Kissi Agyebeng as Ghana’s Special Prosecutor.
He revealed that as soon as Kissi Agyebeng was confirmed as Special Prosecutor, some elders of the New Patriotic Party called Hon. Agyapong to brief him about the development.
During the briefing, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong promised them he welcomes his appointment with a clean heart.
Kissi Agyebeng fit for the job
With a background in criminal law and being lecturer, Lawyer Ralph Agyapong posited that he believes Mr. Agyebeng is fit for the job.
“If he is able to remain firm, he would be able to hold the fist as Special Prosecutor”, Lawyer Agyapong said.
