The Ashanti regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, says he is poised to support anyone who emerges winner in the upcoming by- elections.
According to him, every aspirant is a potential winner of the elections, and does not have a selected candidate to campaign for.
The parliamentary seat for Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti region has become vacant following the demise of the former deputy Finance minister, John Ampontuah Kumah.
Many stakeholders have declared their intentions to contest the parliamentary seat.
Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Kumasi based Wontumi TV, on 2nd April, 2024, Chairman Wontumi emphatically stated that, the NPP will support anyone who wins the forthcoming by -elections.
“If someone uses my name to campaign, you can also do same. I will support anyone who wins, I will not be biased” he said.
In addition, he admonished Ejisu constituents to be united amid the elections, and to desist from activities that will mar the party’s electoral fortune in the coming general elections.
“I plead with the people of Ejisu to vote massively for our aspirants. Let us honour John Kumah by retaining the seat and shame the National Democratic Congress (NDC)” he stressed.
