I Don’t Expect Anybody To Cause Disturbance In The Election- President Warns

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has warned perpetrators ahead of the 7th December general elections.

He said he expects nobody to cause disturbance in the election to be held on Monday across the country.

“Nobody should cause disturbance. If you want to cause disturbance it means what you said the people didn’t like it,”he chastised.

Addressing a gathering at Bohyen in Kumasi during a commissioning of a new District Police Headquarters, Akufo-Addo said that, “if you have something good to say you won’t intimidate the people. Everybody should go and vote peacefully on Monday”

President Akufo-Addo said that the election is about sharing of ideas and not raging war.

President Akufo-Addo stressed that the election would be peaceful.

“We are going to share opinion to decide the direction or the country.” He said

On The New District Police Headquarters

He said that, the people have done well by constructing the edifice for the police to facilitate their work.

He said that the people know the hideout of criminals and that they should fetch the police with the needed information to deal with them.

“The modern Police is a shared responsibility. Everybody should assist the police to do their work. ” Ashanti’s Regional Police commander, COP Kwasi Mensah Duku said.

He assured the Chiefs and people that once a district Police headquarters has been built in the area, the situation of the area will change.

According to the Regional Commander, about 10 Police stations have recently been commissioned in the Metropolis to reduce the crime rate.

He said that as Chairman of the election task force in the region they will make sure the election is conducted peacefully

COP, Kwasi Mensah Duku emphasized that the people in Ashanti Region should not fear because they are ready to protect them.

“If you have made your mind to cause chaos in the election you must be warned else we will crush you. ” He warned the perpetrators
