The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has sent a warning to Mr. John Mahama to stop referring to the late former President Jerrry Rawlings as his “boss”.
The NPP Chairman in an interview with Wontumionline.com stated that Mr. Mahama never respected the late former President Rawlings when he was alive so it smacks of hypocrisy for him to start referring to him as boss at a time he is not among the living.
In a tribute written by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress shortly after Mr. Rawlings died, he wrote: Boss, It is difficult to come to terms with your shocking exit. But you’ve always been unconventional and acted on your own terms. The rest of us your comrades are left to mourn you.
But beyond mourning your departure, we have a duty and responsibility to ensure that your person and your principles receive their deserved place in the history of Ghana.
Leader of the Revolution, Founder of the 4th Republic and Midwife of the longest period of democratic governance in history and nobody can take that away.
Fare thee well, boss.
But the NPP Chairman known as Chairman Wontumi reacted to Mr. Mahama’s tribute to Mr. Rawlinngs claiming that “You were so disrespectful to the man when he was alive and the man made it clear he had issues with the way you treated him.
It is therefore not appropriate for you to act like you respected him when he was alive. He isn’t your boss and would never be. Your boss is Ibrahim Mahama and Tracey Boakye”.
