Archbishop Duncan Williams stopped the late former President John Evans Atta Mills from jailing John Mahama, Chairman Wontumi has revealed.
The Ashanti regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) revealed that the late Mills got furious with the level of corruption his vice was dabbling in and made plans to have him investigated and jailed.
When the issue got to a risk level, Chairman Wontumi stated that “Atta Mills took Mahama to court and ordered the police to investigate him”.
“Duncan Williams stopped Mills from jailing corrupt Mahama”, Chairman Wontumi said as he alleged that the shame that came with the matter could even be a possible reason, Atta Mills died under ‘mysterious’ circumstance.
“My intuition tells me that it is part of the scheme that led to the early death of Mills. He wanted to jail Mahama and because of that Mahama wanted to resign, it only took the intervention of Duncan Williams… I believe Atta Mills died because he started investigating Mahama. Mahama almost resigned from his administration but it took Duncan Williams to settle that issues”, the NPP Chairman explained.
