Kwame Baffoe Abronye, Bono regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has questioned former president John Dramani Mahama over his intention to abolish the double track system when he takes the reins of government.
According to him, the double track system is an intervention and not a policy.
This interrogation comes after the opposition NDC’s manifesto launch held in Winneba on last Saturday.
As part of his promises, he said he was going to expel the double track system when he wins the coming 2024 general elections.
Responding to this in an interview on Wontumi TV, on 26th August, 2024, Mr. Abronye voiced his concern, emphasizing the permanence of the measure.
“Mahama said he will abolish double track system so I want to ask if it is a policy. How many schools even still run the double track now? Let me say for a fact, in as much as we are financial crisis, and free shs beneficiaries are escalating, double track has come to stay” he said.
He further revealed that the Akufo-Addo’s administration has established two thousand infrastructural projects to facilitate teaching and learning.
