A former General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has rejected a claim by an ardent supporter of Mr. Alan Kyeremanten’s campaign team that the highest limit any northerner can attain in the party is the level of a running mate.
Mr. Adorye is reported to have said during the walk that “The NPP has a tradition. Our tradition is Busia, Danquah and Dombo. Danquah represents Eastern Region and the bottom (south), Danquah represents Ashanti Region and the Bono areas, while Dombo represents Northern Region. The Dombos are always in the mix and fit as running mates to either a Danquah candidate or a Busia candidate. That tradition must continue.”
But speaking on the issue on Wontumi TV, the former deputy chief scribe for the NPP noted that “the formula” propounded by Mr. Adorye doesn’t exist in the party but called for restraints in responding to him.

“Hopeson Adorye lied because there is no formula like that. I don’t want anybody to insult him. We are all family so there is no need to trade insults”, he appealed.
He also cautioned that people shouldn’t ride on Hopeson’s gaffe to attack Mr. Kwadwo Kyeremanten noting that “This is not an opportunity to run down Alan Kyeremanten or his supporters. 2008 we traded insults and Prof Mills beat us in the election”, he reminded.
