Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu has hit the ground for work to begin on the construction of five ultra-modern school blocks for five communities across the Bekwai Constituency.
The beneficiary communities include Gyasikrom, Dadease, Amoaful Adumasa, Pepedan and Bogyawe who will get a Six-unit Classroom block. The projects with its ancillary facilities are expected to be completed in six months.
Speaking at a brief Sod-cutting event, Hon. Osei-Owusu said the projects were distributed in consultation with the District Education Directorate and the Municipal Assembly to meet the urgent infrastructural needs of the communities in the area of education.
According to him, access to such projects is difficult, but in him the people of Bekwai do not only have an MP but a leader in the august house who can negotiate from his leadership position to secure projects to the benefit of the people.
Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Lucy Ama Ankrah expressed her appreciation to Joe Osei Osei Owusu for responding to the prevalent infrastructural deficit with the needed urgency. She noted that the days when Nursery and Kindergarten School blocks were usually the most dilapidated structures on the school premises.
She stressed that, the current reforms in the educational structure requires the use of contemporary nursery and Kindergarten blocks for the kids to situate the educational prerequisites of the kids on a sound, solid and proper foundation. These school blocks will allow for optimum Teacher-Pupil interaction.
