On the infrastructure front, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has continued to scrutinize the shoddy work undertaken by the erstwhile Mahama government.

The NPP Chairman in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show, described the Ho airport as a shambolic project which looks like a “single bedroom house” considering the amount of money the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) informed Ghanaians he spent on it.

Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi explained that the NDC claimed they used a whopping $25 million on the project. But the NPP Chairman revealed that after the property was evaluated, it cameto a realization that the former government of Mr. John Dramani Mahama, used only $1 million for  the project.

The airport which was built in Volta region by John Mahama is like somebody’s single bedroom house. He lied to us that he spent $25 million on it but he only spent $1 million out of the $25 on it. We should ask him where the remaining $24million has gone to”, Chairman Wontumi said.

In a related development, Chairman Wontumi has also accused former President John Mahama of pocketing $25 million from funds which were meant for the development of the Kumasi Airport.

The erstwhile National Democratic Congress estimated that $29 million would be used for the project but in the end, the NPP Chairman known as Chairman Wontumi revealed that only $4 million was used for it.

But speaking on the Good Evening Ghana show, Chairman Wontumi described the edifice former President Mahama left for Ashanti region as a “Kitchen airport”.

“John Mahama built a kitchen airport in Kumasi. He told us they used $29 dollars but when the NPP took over, we brought someone to come and value the project and it turned out he used only $4 million”, he said.
