The Accra High Court has ordered the freezing of five bank accounts and four landed properties belonging to former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), Dennis “Miracles” Aboagye, as part of an ongoing investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The court’s order prevents any transactions involving the identified bank accounts and bars the sale, transfer, mortgage, or disposal of the four properties until further directives are issued.
The preservation order was secured by EOCO as part of efforts to safeguard assets that may be relevant to investigations into alleged financial and procurement-related irregularities during Mr. Aboagye’s tenure at IMCCoD.
Mr. Aboagye is currently under investigation over allegations of possible financial and procurement breaches worth GH¢55 million, with EOCO seeking to establish whether any offences were committed and whether any assets are linked to suspected economic crimes.
He has denied all allegations levelled against him, insisting that he has committed no wrongdoing.
He was previously granted bail of GH¢50 million with three sureties, pending the outcome of the investigations.
EOCO is expected to continue its examination of the transactions and procurement activities linked to the case as it determines the next legal steps to take.
