Megan Thee Stallion and basketball player Klay Thompson have parted ways after almost a year of dating.
The rapper shared the news of their split in a statement on April 25 shortly after surprising fans with an Instagram Story about “cheating,” seemingly about Thompson.
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” she said in the statement, shared with TMZ. “Trust, fidelity, and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Megan’s statement came after her Instagram Story claimed that Thompson had been “cheating.”
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house…got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote in the Instagram Story. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???”
She concluded, “bitch I need a REAL break after this one…bye yall.”
Megan and Thompson, who plays for the Dallas Mavericks, were first linked in the summer of 2025. They made their Instagram debut in July and their red carpet debut later that same month.
“Oh, we met and it was such a meet cute it was like a f-cking movie,” she said to People during a red carpet interview at the event. “I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie.”
She added, “That he’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”
Just last month, Megan shared another photo with Thompson on Instagram that saw the pair posing together in a mirror
