Jaman North Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Enoch Nyarko, has identified unity as a key strategy for the party to regain power and win more parliamentary seats in the Bono Region.
He said that if party members in the region come together and work towards a common goal, the NPP will be able to win the majority of the region’s parliamentary seats in the 2028 general elections.
The NPP won only one parliamentary seat in the Bono Region in the 2024 elections.
“We need unity,” he said, adding that no seat is beyond the NPP’s reach because “we have won every seat in the region before.”
The parliamentary candidate urged the Regional Executives to embrace unity and work together to strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 elections.
According to him, hard work combined with unity will enable the party to reclaim the parliamentary seats it lost and secure victory in 2028.
Mr Nyarko also spoke about the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections, acknowledging that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) committed significant resources to the region, particularly through its National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who hails from the region.
“There was pressure in the region because our Chairman, Stephen Ntim, is from the region, and Johnson Asiedu Nketia is also from the region. Because Asiedu Nketia did not want to be disgraced, he put in a lot of resources,” he said.
Mr Nyarko also assessed the performance of the NDC government, arguing that it should not be allowed to retain power because, in his view, the first two years of its administration have been unsatisfactory.
He cited the government’s 24-hour markets currently under construction and accused the NDC government of demolishing the Sampa market which he said was built by the NPP to make way for a new 24-hour market.
“The things the NDC is doing if we hand over power to them in 2028, they will sell the nation,” he stated.
