Guinea Coup: I Pity Africa- Lawyer Obiri Boahen Weeps
A Private Legal Practitioner, Nana Obiri Boahen says he pity African countries over the rampant coup d’etat taking place recently.
Lawyer Obiri Boahen, speaking on Wontumi Radio Morning Show, said it has been established in Guinea that President’s tenure in office expires after two terms.
“But after the two terms, embattled Alpha Conde made amendments in the Constitution which led to perishing of souls,” he told Oheneba Nana Asiedu.
Obiri Boahen fumed that, where was the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) when the coup was looming?
“Nobody will anticipate for revolution but when there is no positive change of government, inevitably, what happens is an uprising,” the NPP Secretary said.
According to him, it is high time theologians, sociologists, anthropologists discussed what’s wrong with some African leaders.
