GPL: Aduana Stars Shoot Down Kotoko

Asante Kotoko failed to go top of the Ghana Premier league when they succumbed to a well drilled Aduana at the accra Sports Stadium in their late week 10 fixture.

An entertaining first half of game failed to produce any goal from Both sides as the defensive tactics mapped up by Paa Kwesi Fabin and Johnson Smith kept Strikers Kwame Poku and Yaya Mohammed being ‘Policed’ through specific instructions issued out to them.

Despite its stalemate, Isaac Kwain of Aduana Released 2 stunning shots all through deadball events missing the goal post by inches on both occasions.

Fabio Gama also came close to goal but a long searching pass from the midfield was met mid air by Goalkeeper Joseph Addo who got hold of it, Gama ended up with an injury that kept him off the game for some few minutes.

Despite its barrenness, the two sides gave some entertaining passes and tackles to the delight of the 25% crowed that made their way to the venue.

 

Kotoko were forced to make an early minute substitution when Patrick Asmah in his quest to dribble a defender, ended up injuring himself, to be replaced by Emmanuel Gyamfi in just 14 minutes of Play.

From recess, Aduana Stars showed clear intentions of controlling the game from midfield when the introduced Samuel Bioh, while Asante Kotoko key defensive midfielder Habib Mohammed was taken off due to injury.

The substitution worked for the Ogya boys who pressed their host for the opener, thos worked for them, when Samuel Bioh met a goal face crossing ball with ansuper drive that smashed the rof of the net in the 75th minute.

That was certainly going to he the only goal of the game, as 3 former Asante Kotoko players came facing their fomer employers.

Yaya Mohammed, Sam Adams, Joseph Addo, and Coach Fabin were online to beat their former club.

Asante Kotoko laboured for the rest of the game, but could not get the equalizer, ending the game with their second defeat of the season.
