Government To Appeal To GNPC To Resume Payment Of Black Stars Coach’s Salary

The Ministry of Youth and Sports will be heading to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation for help to pay incoming coach Milovan Rajevac.

The Ministry struggled to pay C.K Akonnor’s $25,000 a month salary and Rajevac is understood to have agreed to take more than that.

According to sources close to GHANASoccernet.com, the Serbian will be taking close to $70,000 as salary to coach the Black Stars.

This means the Ministry would have rely on the GNPC for support to pay the national team coach. Previously, GNPC paid salaries of coaches until the appointment of C.K Akonnor.

Milovan Rajevac is expected to be confirmed coach of the Black Stars on Thursday after negotiations between the FA and the Serbian is concluded.

This will be his second spell in charge of the national team after a successful first stint, where he led a young Black Stars team to the final of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup in 2010.
