The Founder and President of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho has expressed his gratitude to the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following his massive contribution towards the construction of Asomdwee park. 

The resting place of the late former President John Evans Atta Mills, had been an eyesore and many expected his successor John Mahama to elevate the place despite the incessant calls that were placed at his doorsteps by Mr. Anyidoho. 

It only took the government of President Akufo-Addo and some members of the New Patriotic Party to come together and assist Koku Anyidoho achieve his dream of giving the former late President a decent place.  

One key person who contributed heavily towards the project is Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi who pledge to assist with 1000 bags of cement.  

Speaking on the development, Mr. Anyidoho stated on Wontumi TV that he is grateful to the support and has received the donation Chairman Wontumi promised him. 

“God bless Chairman Wontumi. He gave me cement bags for Asomdwe Park… Governor God bless you.”, he said in an interview monitored by Wontumionline.com 

It will be recalled that Chairman Wontumi pledged to give a thousand bags of cement to support the refurbishment of Asomdwee park, the resting place of the late president John Evans Atta Mills. 

He made this pledge after Koku Anyidoho wept on Wontumi TV while commenting on the refurbishment of the park. 

During the 8th anniversary remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony of the demise of the late president organized by the Atta Mills Institute on Friday, July 25, 2020, sod was cut for the commencement of work on the burial grounds. 

The redevelopment project will be funded by the Coastal Development Authority (CODA), under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).
