“Go To Court And Stop Disturbing Ghanaians”- NPP Supporter Urges JM, NDC

Etwienana Baffour Oteatuoso Kokoben today took the teeming audience of Wontumi TV/Radio down memory lane when he revisited the famous footages that captured the joyous mood former President, John Drama Mahama , his inner circle members members found themselves in when the Supreme Court ruled in the NDC’s favour in the historic election petition trial in 2013.

The video which immediately went viral captured the then President Mahama and his group in an all white attire jubilating over the Supreme Court ruling which cleared the way for the NDC flagbearer to rule unhindered until he was defeated by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections.

The Akyem chief also recalled another episode of the political contest between the NPP and the NDC over the controversial 2012 election results when the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, taunted the NPP with the now common political phrase, “Any idiot can go to court.”

Asiedu Nketiah later became a principal prosecution witness in the celebrated case.
Nana Oteatuoso who was trying to expose the NDC leaders hypocrisy over their threat to resort to series of demonstrations over the 2020 election “dispute” was contributing to a panel discussion on Wontumi Radio/TV on Wednesday .

According to him, ” the law of Karma has caught up with John Mahama and his NDC and that what goes around comes around.”

“ In 2012,” he continued, “ John Mahama and his party members stubbornly held on to their conviction that they had won the election despite the contrary view held by the NPP while insisting that if the NPP had any complaints or objection, they should go to court and stop disturbing Ghanaians.”

The Akyem Royal recalled that the NPP challenged the election results at the Supreme Court with six solid evidences with each having a strong legal backing but the petition was eventually dismissed.

According to him, John Mahama has never liked Jean Mensah since she was appointed as the Electoral Commission’s Chairperson.

“All the foreign election observers and their local counterparts commended Jane Mensah for the success of this year’s elections.” He said

Nana Oteatuoso emphasized that, Ghana is now a democratic country and for that matter John Mahama has every right to express his opinion.

“Whether John Mahama accepts the election results or not nothing will happen because his actions are baseless and if they exceed the limit the laws of the land will deal with him.” He stressed

Nana Oteatuoso told sit-in host, Nana Konadu Abu Pra, that there is no way John Mahama can destabilize the country, not even his own house.

“In all 12 candidates contested the Presidential election so if one of them disputes the outcome and for that matter, insists on destabilizing the country, then the security agencies would have questions to answer if he succeeds in his bid.” Nana Oteatuoso contended.

Nana Oteatuoso said that, what is at stake for Ghana is how the country can advance as rapidly as she can so the people should pay attention to, “ the good tidings the second term of Nana Addo brings and not the actions of John Mahama which will draw us back.”
