Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, has served notice to the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress that Ghanaians would continue to reject his claims that he is the originator of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Wontumi Morning Show, the Chief of Staff stated that Ghanaians are well abreast with the policies originated by the Akufo-Addo led government and wouldn’t fall for lies being churned out by the NDC leader that he started the policy before he left office.
According to her, a lot of Ghanaians are not shallow minded and would always fall on Google to bring back harsh statements former President John Mahama, made about the implementation of free SHS by President Akufo-Addo.
On Tuesday, 24th November 2020, whilst on a tour of some constituencies in the Upper East former President John Mahama stated that “we started the programme (Free SHS) and the NPP came and continued it.”
But the Chief of Staff nullified claims by Mr. Mahama on the free SHS debate by stating that “You said you won’t invest in free SHS but Nana Akufo-Addo said he will do it and he has done it”.
Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare added that before President Akufo-Addo rolled out the policy; he did a very thorough research and understood that countries that have developed, all went in for free SHS.
“President Akufo-Addo, believes in the Ghanaian people; today we have a lot of free SHS Graduates and I feel good seeing them”, she said.
