Former President should accept his fate as a destooled chief and not look forward to be enstooled again, the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned him.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has directly told Mr. John Mahama not to delude himself and think of a possible comeback when Ghanaians have demonstrated during two consecutive polls that they don’t want his leadership.
In an interview with Wontumionline.com shortly after the 2016 and 2020 candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) revealed in a message to the people of Bole-Bamboi that he is likely to contest the 2024 election, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that Mr. Mahama is setting himself up for a bigger embarrassment.
Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole-Bamboi constituency hinted that “Former President John Dramani Mahama who is from Bole here has asked me to tell the good people of Bole-Bamboi Constituency that he has not forgotten of the good things they have done for him over the years and that Inshah Allah (God willing) he is likely to come back to contest elections in his party and so they should use this special Eid-ul-Adha day to thank God and to ask for good health, success and victory for him”.
But Chairman Wontumi responded that Ghanaians respect our culture and won’t vote for a “destooled chief” again.
