A Ghanaian pastor living in Canada has been convicted and sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl and could face possible deportation following the ruling.
According to a report GhanaWeb sighted on May 11, 2026, the pastor, identified as Emmanuel Yeboah, was sentenced to serve 18 months in prison.
The report further stated that Emmanuel Yeboah, 38, a resident of Ontario, was found guilty of sexual assault, sexual interference, and assault.
According to the report, the presiding judge, Justice Robert Gattrell, found Yeboah guilty of abusing his position of trust as a family friend to groom the victim with gifts, including ice cream and electronic gadgets.
The report also noted that most of the assaults occurred in a vehicle while Yeboah was driving the victim to and from piano lessons.
It further stated that the victim’s trauma reportedly worsened after Yeboah later appeared at her home, causing her to flee in panic.
“The 38-year-old Ontario resident was found guilty of sexual assault, sexual interference and assault after the court heard he abused his position as a family friend to assault the victim while driving her to and from piano lessons,” part of the report stated.
The convict, who currently holds permanent residency status in Canada, is also expected to face immigration consequences, including possible deportation, following his conviction.
